Red
A colour you see in anger,
Obscuring everything you see.
Making you as mad
As mad can possibly be.
The red flashes in your mind.
Telling you to halt
You look at him closely,
It’s really not his fault.
You finally calm down.
Ashamed, you hang your head.
Your outburst of anger,
Tinges your cheeks red.
You know you’ve always loved him
It’s as true as true
He picks a rose off the table
And hands it back to you.
You never really liked roses,
That’s why you got mad
But seeing his disappointment,
Makes you really sad.
You promise you’ll never be angry
Ever, ever again,
He smiles. He knows you
You gave me a hug,
When no-one else cared,
You gave me comfort,
When I was scared.
You gave me a smile,
When I was crying,
You made me live again,
When I felt like dying.
What did I give you?
Except harsh words and criticism?
But you, cheerfully replied,
With one of your usual witticisms.
What can I give you know?
You’re not here any more,
No more hugs,
Or smiles galore.
I wasn’t a very good friend,
I didn’t know how.
All I can give you,
Are flowers now.
I lay flowers on your grave,
It is otherwise bare,
I did love you, I say,
I was always there.
No-one else is here,
I was your only friend.
You said
Coward, they call you as you run.
Taunts and jeers behind you,
This is the bullies fun.
A few people run in front.
They're chasing them down too,
The bullies are on the hunt.
You hide behind the science block,
They do not have a clue.
You sneak a glance at the clock.
There's half an hour left of lunch,
You go hide in the loo.
You don't want to get a kick or punch.
You wonder if the teachers care.
They're supposed to be protecting you.
But they're simply not there.
You cry, tears rolling down your cheeks.
You hear nothing, then, "BOO!"
"I've caught one of the little freaks!"
You slip out of your hidey hole,
Only one shou
He sat on the swing,
Looking at the ground.
Swaying on the thing,
Happiness unfound.
Tears streamed down his face,
He was not afraid to cry.
A crying man was a disgrace,
But he could not stop if he would try.
Why did people think,
That a man could not shed tears?
Did they think,
That a man did not have fears?
Even though he was crying,
He felt no less a man.
Even though he was trying,
The tears just ran and ran.
